Identity theft, scam, and information security expert Rob Douglas is available to provide information security awareness training programs, workshops and consultation to organizations of any size and from any industry. Each program or workshop is tailored to meet the specific needs of the organization.
Rob is a leading authority on the use of social engineering (human hacking), pretext, deception and fraud to steal financial, medical, educational, or any other type of personal or proprietary information and records.
Since his initial congressional testimony before the U.S. House of Representatives Committee on Banking and Financial Services in 1998, when Rob exposed the fact that illicit private investigators and information brokers were stealing and selling the personal and proprietary information of individuals and businesses across the United States, Rob has been assisting the financial services industry, the telecommunications industry, trade associations, and a range of other industries and consumer affairs organizations to better understand the information security threats their organizations, employees and members confront on a daily basis.
Douglas has also provided testimony and expertise to local, state and federal government legislators and regulatory agencies across the United States that has resulted in changes to consumer protection laws.
In 2015, Rob successfully completed "Cybersecurity: Technology, Application and Policy," a six-week program developed by the faculty of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Laboratory in collaboration with MIT Professional Education. Rob is also is a Certified Identity Theft Risk Management Specialist.
